Solar Incentive Program

Harness the power of the sun

As part of our commitment to helping customers save money and preserving our natural resources, our Solar Incentive program offers customers financial incentives for installing photovoltaic (photovoltaic) systems on homes and businesses.

Why go solar? The sun sends more energy to Earth in one minute than the world consumes in a whole year. With a photovoltaic system in place in your home or business, you can produce your own electricity, all while reducing your energy bills through our net metering program.

Harnessing the power of the sun is good for the environment, too. photovoltaic systems do not generate noise or air pollution and they help reduce the demand on energy resources in Utah. In turn, you’ll be helping reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions entering our atmosphere, and preserving our environment for generations to come.

Applications will be accepted beginning January 7, 2008. The program runs through January 31, 2009 or until incentive funds last. Incentive funds are based on the number of kilowatt hours (kWh) allotted for the year: 57 residential and 50 commercial.

At this time, all residential kWh have been subscribed. However, we encourage you to submit an application to secure your place on the 2008 program waiting list. If for any reason someone approved for the 2008 program decides to not participate, those kWh become available and the next customer on the waiting list will be contacted for program participation.

At this time, 41.066 of the 50 allotted commercial kWh have been subscribed, leaving 8.934 kWh still available.

This information is updated biweekly. For the most current kWh availability breakdown or if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 1-866-344-9802.
