In partnership with the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, Lenovo® has expanded its partnership with the 80 PLUS® program, with plans to actively market its ThinkCentre desktop computers and ThinkServer servers that meet the 80 PLUS energy efficiency requirements. Those standards are a component of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's new ENERGY STAR® standards for computers and servers.
Lenovo, a leading PC manufacturer, has participated in the 80 PLUS program for power supply certification. By promoting the more efficient desktop computers and servers to its North American customers, the manufacturer provides yet another alternative in a fast-growing market segment demanding more energy-efficient products.
Dave Backen, vice president of Utility Solutions, Lighting and Products for Ecos, says he believes the integration of green computing standards and practices gives a competitive advantage to manufacturers like Lenovo. “The early-adopters of this technology have really set the bar for companies interested in emerging sustainable technologies.” Backen continues, “This market is growing fast and we are excited to see who will be the next to join our program.”
Through programs like 80 PLUS – and its partnership with Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance – Ecos continues to demonstrate its industry leadership by providing clients with solutions to implement more sustainable and cost-effective practices.
